Genoa and its surroundings were the scene, over the last weekend, of the visit of the I.O.F. commission. aimed at verifying the progress of the organizational work for the 2024 World Cup and the 2026 World Championships.
Aron Less, chairman of the O.C. Commission of the I.O.F., and Peter Molnar, Senior Event Advisor assigned to both events, went between the two Rivieras checking the competition grounds and the first cartographic versions of the maps, edited by Samuele Curzio.
The technical manager, Alessio Tenani, illustrated his ideas on the tracks, discussing positively with the Hungarian duo from whom he received excellent feedback, while the Event Director, Gianluca Carbone, addressed the general aspects, going on to draw up the 'Event Plan which will form the track along which the organizational machine will move in the coming years, with defined deadlines and roles.
At the end of the works, Molnar and Less took their leave, appreciating the enormous possibilities offered by our territory, which allows for the combination of always demanding and continuously different technical aspects alongside historical and landscape riches.
Next appointment at the end of May 2023 with a second visit, while in October there will be a test for the organizers with the final of the Italian Cup in Genoa-Bolzaneto and the Italian Championship in Relay in Praglia (GE).
