Kolding (DAN): This morning, in Kolding, the European Orienteering Championships were presented, which will be held in Italy from 3 to 10 October 2023. The definitive locations will be identified and equally divided between the Veneto Region and the Autonomous Province of Trento. However, this detail will be revealed only next autumn.

The format, very spectacular, will reflect what is developing in these days in Denmark. The meeting between the Italian delegation and the IOF Council, led by President Leho Haldna, was held this morning with President Fiso, Sergio Anesi and Gabriele Viale illustrating the Italian proposal. Work is also being done in Italy to involve the excellence of the territory and to guarantee the best results in the right combination of sport, competition, tourism, culture and discovery of the territory, with the related fallout, which an important presence such as that foreseen at the European level can guarantee.

Gianluca Carbone, present at the competitions and event manager of the 2026 World Championships in Liguria, had the opportunity to verify the organizational needs in the field and confirmed that the works to host the world cup in 24 and the world championships in 26 are also proceeding for the Italian world event. In the coming years, our country will be the scene of several important Orienteering events. In addition to the Ligurian World Cup, there are the European Championships just presented and the Mtb-O World Cup in Alpe Cimbra, in 2023.
A great organizational commitment which, after the World Masters in Puglia on 9-16 July, confirms the will to grow in Italian Orienteering.
