The WOC Simulation Week concluded with the Sprint Relay in Spotorno, bringing to an end an intensive week of races and training sessions involving more than 100 athletes from many of the world's leading national teams as they prepare for the 2026 World Orienteering Championships.

The relay delivered exciting racing, with the lead changing hands several times and the outcome remaining uncertain until the final legs. Switzerland claimed victory after a high-quality and closely contested competition, finishing ahead of France and Finland.

The event marked the successful conclusion of a crucial testing week, allowing organisers to evaluate courses, logistics and operational procedures ahead of the World Orienteering Championships. The simulations provided athletes, team officials and organisers with the opportunity to test every aspect of the event under realistic race conditions, delivering valuable feedback in preparation for the World Championships.

With the WOC Simulation Week successfully completed, the focus now shifts to the World Orienteering Championships themselves. Only ten days remain until WOC 2026 begins, when Liguria will welcome the world's best orienteers for the sport's premier event.
